There are a number of different types of email marketing (and a number of different ways to do it), but there is one common factor: It’s important that you get your message right. To get the most out of email marketing, you need to be able to effectively explain how your product fits into the market you’re targeting. You also need to be able to articulate its value proposition and demonstrate how it will help people achieve their goals in a way that’s meaningful for them.

At the heart of this is an understanding of how people work: how they respond to information, what information is important for them, and what actions they take when it comes around. If you know this about your audience and their habits, then you can tailor your messages accordingly — from enticing them with an amazing value proposition and getting past objections raised by competitors and customers alike (who often fall into the same mindset) all the way down to crafting messages that are most likely to lead people to take action.

 2. Email Marketing vs Social Media Marketing


The truth is that no one really knows what works. If you’re going to email your customers, you need to first figure out what they want and make sure your email marketing program reflects it.

If you are in a market where there aren’t a lot of direct competitors, then you may be able to get away with using email marketing as part of your marketing mix (as opposed to putting all the money into paid advertising).


However, if there is a lot of competition, then it becomes a real problem. Email marketing can be effective – but only if your content is relevant and aligned with the messages your customer wants to hear. And that means having a strong sales message and good copywriting skills. Without those things, you’ll waste a lot of time in the long run on email marketing programs that aren’t achieving much.


The thing about online mailings is that they have an inherent bias towards immediate results (which means not too many people will learn about them). That shouldn’t be an issue for you though; when it comes down to it, people will adopt whatever social media channels you’re using or ignore them entirely if they don’t work for them. Email marketing shouldn’t be used as a way to bypass social media (in fact I strongly recommend against it).


When it comes down to it - remember: marketers are human beings who like predictable results! If you want success, treat your customers well and give them some time to say “I told you so!” then they will buy from you again in the future. The more consistently positive feedback they give us over time is how we get better at our craft – so don’t let potential customers go elsewhere! 




3. Why Email Marketing?


– A good email marketing campaign is one that sends the right message at the right time, both to what you want to reach out to and what people would like to hear. Here are some of the biggest email marketing mistakes that can cause similar problems.

When it comes to email marketing, there are three important things to keep in mind:  you need a plan for your campaign, you need a plan for your sales to funnel and you need a plan for your delivery system.  A good email marketing campaign is one that sends the right message at the right time, both to what you want to reach out to and what people would like to hear.


Make sure that you have a clear product vision for your company before you start designing an email campaign (this is especially true if this is your first time running an email marketing campaign). The most common mistakes made by small businesses are as follows:


Mistake #1:   Inadequate positioning of your product or service - When it comes to positioning, small businesses often focus on their low-cost price points. If they have added additional features or new functionality (like advanced analytics), they may be falling behind on their competitive advantage. Small businesses often forget that there is no real "low cost" when it comes to their customers' needs; there's just more of everything else. 

 They end up selling enough products in their line of business so they can't afford not being able to differentiate themselves - For example, let's say we're selling an app that provides recommendations from social media or public radio stations based on user input; this product wouldn't be very easy for us as a small business because we don't have any social media presence nor do we have any radio stations because our users don't listen to enough news stations nor do they know about them enough in general. 

 

So it makes sense for us not to use our social media presence unless there's something we can learn from them about our listenership; similarly, if we were going with radio station recommendations then our listenership wouldn't make sense anyway because most radio stations only play music from a particular genre (we don't live near enough different types of music). The same goes with Google searches which are based on content picked up by search engines; if our users go with different searches then we'll miss out on some of them due to variations in searches within each type of content.
